I was just on a set one day and was having a chat with someone. As usual I was complaning about the lack of opportunities here in Canberra. That's when they said, 'Sometimes you just have to make your own films.' And that's how the portfolio project started.
Obviously I don't mean that I started the project the very next day and filmed all five films at the same time and posted them straightaway. But yeah that's how the idea started. Not being able to find the right opportunities, I decided to start making my own projects.

I honestly had no idea what I was gonna do or where I was heading. All I had was the thought of making films in my head. One thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to make some pysch-thriller type of films. I am a huge fan of those by the way!
So yeah I wanted to make some films and I knew that they had to be pysch-thriller films. Then one day I am just going through my drive - I honsetly don't remember what I was doing- but I came across a short story I had written for a creative writing class a while ago and bam! There was my inspiration.
Reading through that story just opened a floodgate of ideas in my mind. I was like 'Oh that's sounds like a good story!' and I came up with four different stories! The funny part is, the story which inspired me is not one of the stories of any of the films that I made.
Now comes the part I hate the most- Scripts! Now I really don't know what had gotten into me, but I decided to write the scripts on my own. Silly me! I swear to this day I have no idea how I managed to come up with those scripts!
But yeah there I was with four scripts ready to go! Oh by the way I keep saying four because I wrote the script for 'The Loop 2' a bit later. So yeah the project initially started as a series of four short films . So yeah that's basically how the portfolio project started, with a simple frustration of not being able to find more acting opportunities.
I will write about how my passion for acting turned into something bigger soon, but that's it for now!
